Week Fifteen

25.02.17

The end of half term and it's a horrendous day.  Torrential rain took over the day and everyone took cover in the cottage to watch the rugby.  It was totally flooded everywhere.

Marion and Kirsty went to the local Price Right (which is similar to Costco in Bermuda) and bought food for our first Family Dinner - Roast Pork - Mmmmmm.  Simon's Mum offered to do roast for 6 .... little did she realise that word got round and 6 turned in to 20 😀

Luckily I had collected enough apples to make and apple crumble for everyone.

After being in Bermuda for three months, taking part in a Family Dinner and it being roast was pure luxury.  It bought a little bit of 'Home' to us.  It was also a lot of fun having a lot of people together enjoying a great meal.

Well in true Bermudian fashion the weather is the complete opposite today as it was yesterday.  Today the sun has come out which is really good as we're all off to John Smiths Bay for the Lion Fish Day.

So Land Rover BAR have sustainability partnerships with some of the Charities on the island - one of them being Keep Bermuda Beautiful.  So today we helped comb the beach of any plastic and rubbish.

We've also teamed up with some of the local divers to support the culling of the Lion Fish which are taking over the waters.  There are no predators as this fish originally comes from the Indian Ocean so they are an invasive species.  They are very strong at breeding and at any one time they can lay 30,000 eggs.

 Aaaaarrrgghhh ..... there's a shark on the beach 🦈🤣
